Defying the Laws of Gravity
#11
I wouldn't say this is a loophole, arevn.... it's just the logics and physics of a computer-generated creature at work here...and I find it rather charming....makes sense to me  (and I have also used it, BTW).

The ladder jump..... that probably IS a loophole !  Hahaha  Big Grin

Small correction. The top block is EIGHT high. And, although not the case here, the top block may be TWO squares wide. Anyway, Jack is
flying
more than NINE high !

But, when Jack is staying on a floor, his jump is as high: just a little more than THREE (starting from ZERO and not from SIX). Why? Because he is always able to jump onto a block of THREE high and not onto one of FOUR high. It is that simple.

Exactly. :-) This is just the way the game is built because it makes sense from a programming point of view.

Even so, I think of it this way: Jack prepares himself to land when he jumps, so he can fall (from the height of his jump) further. When he simply walks of a ledge, he isn't fully prepared for the landing, and so he can not fall so far. Wink

BTW, I hope people don't mind me resurrecting year-old threads! The information is still relevant. :-)
