1. Open the zipfile and open the mansion in the Builder. Make sure that the version number in Mansion Options under File is correct. Note the first release is always 1.0, so the next one will be 1.1. The first digit (1.0 to 2.0) is not changed unless there is a major update like if the builder adds or deletes one or more rooms.
2. Make sure that Preview pictures are removed, then close the Builder and open Terminal.
3. In the Terminal type exactly:
openssl sha
WITH A SPACE AFTER sha .
4. Drag the MM file into the Terminal behind the space after sha and press return. The checksum will be revealed. Now you can zip the mansion again
5. Leave the Terminal open and go to one of the download pages in the Custom Mansions Area category - Lists of downloadable mansions board. Perhaps the quickest way is to use the Download by mansionname thread to find the mansion quickly. Click the mansionname to be taken to the downloadpage in the CMs subforum.
6. Click modify in the upper right corner.
a) Change mansion and zipfile if needed
b) Change the checksum by copy and paste from the Terminal. Note that you do NOT change the checksum name of the mansion thread.
c) Choose the new mansion zipfile to replace the old file and post the message.

Downloads sorted by ...threads in the Lists of downloadable custom mansions board. Change the release date to the newest update date. Make sure that you move the mansion to the top in the
Downloads sorted by datethread.
8. Go to the mansion category and announce the update.
