Beta 2b [Closed/Newer version available]
#1
This is an optional update if you want a version that fixes (only) the problems below.

www.actionsoft.com/files/temp/MidnightMansionHDbeta2b.zip

FIXES:
- Fixed small spiders to bounce/move properly! They had ALL swapped their
bounciness
value with their
delay before falling again
value.
- Fixed movies to record jumping if space bar (default) was used to jump.
- Possibly fixed Carol's issue where she can't play any mansions.

This does NOT fix fullscreen slowdowns or a few other things reported recently that I haven't gotten to yet.

Update: please do not test with this version - a newer version is available. --Rob

There's plenty to look at - that's for sure! When you get to the mansions after looking through the new screens, could you start with Hint House, and Tomb Of Princes (Normal/Hard). They are the newest and have been played the least. The more these get tested, the better.

That's not to say the other mansions will not have issues, all mansions have at least superficial changes - some more than others. These changes mostly had to do with shadows and various layer-related issues, and a few stuck situations here and there. Of the other mansions, I'd say that Knight Mansion (esp. Normal and Hard) might be next in priority, and after that it doesn't really matter.

I've been through all the mansions room-by-room, and played through all of them as well, taking my time (no speed runs...). So I know they *can* all by completed. I didn't take the time to ensure I had gotten all secrets in all mansions, however. It wouldn't surprise me if you manage to find a few half stuck or stuck scenarios.. I was a little surprised at the ones I found.

I've been through Hint House Normal already and didn't find any issues with the mansion itself. The game didn't crash on me, but a couple times when I switched from full screen/window or back, my screensaver came up. The game was still there, however.

Love the new graphics, they are awesome!

I'm going to read through all the posts to see what's been reported so far, and then I'll get to the other mansions you mentioned.

I'm off to the prom now and I'll be in London tomorrow so I'll be back on Sunday for more beta-testing (I'll still look on the site for new posts)

I can have the game disable screensavers. However, when should it do this? When you start a game? And re-enable it when you pause? (Do note that this means that if you start a game and walk away without pausing, the screensaver will never come on.)

This was fixed in beta 2. Make sure to upgrade the version you're running to the latest. (See the link at the top of this thread!)
