I put so much thought into the key system here it's not even funny, and I think it it quite brilliant, if I say so myself. But just for reinforcement, I'll move that grey door by the lower red/green doors to be the first one, so players get the message, instead of looking for a red key… which they won't find, unless they go to the next section.

I guess I could turn it down a notch in speed for more thinking time to the player. 5C5543555D5D340 wrote: This was the way it was for most bonus sections in most mansions, custom and built-in back in the original game. This gives the players who missed something a goal for the next time they play, making it more enjoyable. If they are stuck, they are free to use these forums for questions to fellow players about locating the keys the next time round. I do not recommend that you backtrack and look for them, I would just try to keep an eye out for them, or perhaps open old saves at locations where you think you haven't checked thoroughly enough. Wait, don't tell me you didn't find the secret study of Jasperlone??? Ooo, better go find it, Missy! Adventures await. Don't peak in the editor… it would spoil the fun. ![]() 5C5543555D5D340 wrote: Best solution is to think up a good route and take it so you can avoid backtracking. Jasperlone's design is in deathly designed that some backtracking is required, but not too extremely, it's all up to the player. I know it's an issue and would love to compensate you all but I would have to redesign whole sections. ![]() 5C5543555D5D340 wrote: Strange. Do you have your sound on? 5C5543555D5D340 wrote: It's a tricky puzzle, but very possible. Here's a hint: The disappearing bricks have nothing to do with it... 5C5543555D5D340 wrote: It's all in the airThere's a trigger somewhere around there you missed. I suppose I should move it to a more convenient location; on the top of that statue... 5C5543555D5D340 wrote: You're meant to get rid of the sinking bricks and jump on the bat platform before they come back. If they do, just jump on them again, and jump on the platform twice, until it goes back in the right direction. If a player is trying to break the scores on the internet and get #1 on the global scores, then yes, he would have to. Thanks for all your comments Missy. Note how I listened to most of your comments. ![]() Also I looked at the places you said Semi. Seems we have found a home for the new track 9 in our music selection. Also adjusted those things in normal mode. Not true about re-designing the whole alps section. There are a couple of place to at least alleviate some of the back tracking without compromising the design or the designers INTENT of strategy. For now, the only one I that comes to mind is the horizontal batmobile that takes Jack to the mountain on the right, to go down into the treasure area. Why not make it that he can go back up the ladder & take the batmobile back to the starting point. The vines, well you said you will stop that area. great. In beta 5 I will look for the other spot. For now. Well, I lost all patience to do it again. Keep in mind Anthony, this is a HUGE & I mean HUGE mansion. And in my way of thinking, a player should NOT have to go to the MLB to peak for info as to how to proceed. It should flow easier. Now I am done too. Re: Beta 4: Jasperlone Mountains - rose - 08-13-2010 Hi! Started testing Jasperlone hard again. Jasperlone Hard 14300 When jumped to the bottom rightmost brick Jack can't get back alive 13493 jump on the green brick thing is just too hard with the wind! The Medusa isn't a problem in my view but the wind is. Do you have a changed version, Anthony? It seems ridiculous if I test something that is already changed. Re: Beta 4: Jasperlone Mountains - Wingy - 08-14-2010 I do. I'm not sure if these will change things but I did go through the windy sections and make them a lot easier. Re: Beta 4: Jasperlone Mountains - rose - 08-14-2010 Great Anthony! I test this edited version. Re: Beta 4: Jasperlone Mountains - Semi-Native - 08-14-2010 This JS still exists: Hard 14894 Jack Stuck. Jack rode the gray bat platform down to here instead of taking the ladder. The lever on the right had not been pulled, so the gray doors are closed. Jack was able to open the red trap door and explore down below, but now he can't get back up. Re: Beta 4: Jasperlone Mountains - Semi-Native - 08-14-2010 Hard Starting Room 15101 Jack now starts at ground level so can not get to the shield and coins on top. Re: Beta 4: Jasperlone Mountains - rose - 08-14-2010 Found the same two things as Semi-native and also this 14508 from the cave Jack can jump to the left but not back. Shall it be that way or should he be able to jump left? Back to the mansion as I haven't finished it yet. I like the difficulty level better now than before. |
