Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - aquaMat - 03-06-2007 Has anybody of you ever connected a 2nd monitor to an Apple PowerMac G5 (pre-Intel; Dual 2 GHz; inkl. ATI Radeon 9600). I know that it's possible...what I do not know: - Will there be a limit to screen resolution and / or color resolution after I connected a 2nd moniztor ? (At the moment I'm running the main (and only) monitor with 1280 x960 (75 Hz) and 16 Mill. colors. Will I be able to keep that resolution ?) - I plan to use the 2nd monitor as enlarged desktop. But what will happen, when I switch on my computer and only 1 monitor.... will the Mac automtaically realisethat I have not switched on the second monitor on this particular day, even if it's connected..... and will it 'adjust' the desktop accordingly ? - What happens to MM, if I have 2 monitors running ?? Will it be full-screen, but only in the main monitor ? And what is on the other screen then ? I'll appreciate any advice, knowing that it's rather off-topic to our usual conversations in this forum.

And what is on the other screen then ? MM will run on your main screen, and your other screen will go black. Don't know the answers to your other questions. Re: Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - Wingy - 03-06-2007 I have an idea! How about... like mario cart DS, one screen is the game, the other is the map! : Just a thought.
Re: Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - Psychotronic - 03-06-2007 That's actually a pretty great idea. But I don't think there's enough people playing dual screen MM to make it worth Vern's time. Re: Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - Wingy - 03-07-2007 It would probably get higher rating on sites! : (Vern needs the extra cash)
Re: Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - aquaMat - 03-07-2007 So nobody can answer my max.resolution question above ?? Re: Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - Wingy - 03-07-2007 Hold down option at startup and press leave monitor at is currentbutton.

Yeah, yoiur probably right, brell...... although I thought I save myself the trouble to create an account at some Mac-forum just for that one question.... Re: Connecting 2nd monitor to G5 - Wingy - 03-08-2007 Can't you just press the leave monitor at is currentat the startup of MM holding down option? :-? |
