new computer - arevn - 04-30-2007

Ooh, I just played my first game of MM on my new 24
iMac and I'm stunned. I've moved from a G3 with a 13
monitor and I can't believe how this impacts the game. It is so beautiful with bright colours, crisp images, and details I'd never noticed before. It also plays much more quickly. As it turns out, all the things about MM that annoyed me were the fault of my G3! ;D

Congratulations! Now you have to replay all the mansions!

Re: new computer - Wingy - 05-01-2007

*Sigh* I wish I had the money to buy a nice 14" intel iBook with those nifty webcams, the 64MBs of graphics, (So I can play Age of Empires 3!) and that 1.8GHz, and that 512MBs of ram... I wish I could... but since I just struck broke for breaking something by accident, (you can't even see the dent!) will cost me $738.12 to repair!!! I'm sooo argry...

Anyways... Congrats on your new buy! Thanks for choosing mac! Tongue

Wow, you have a G3 computer to start with? Or was it your second computer you got? I had two computers before this iBook.

I had an LC first, running Mac OS 7.5, 2MBs of ram, like 16MHz and had a Hard Drive with like 90 MBs. I played civilization and made lots of experamental movies on it. Now its up in a closet. (The only monitor that worked with it broke, you see)

Then I got a PPC, that had 133MHz, 16Mbs of ram, running Mac Os 9.2. It had a CD drive, and a floppy drive, (
Ha! Bet none of you have a floppy drive!
Thats what I said to people who said,
I have a computer with Mac OS 10!
)

Now I have this iBook, that is crashing all the time, with 933MHz, 512 MBs of Ram, 14
screen, 32Mbs of VRAM, Mac OS 10.4.8.

I'm thinking of getting a new computer, but I have to save my pennys. Winning the contest would help, alot. At least 2nd place, would be alot. (I'm pretty sure I'll get a runner-up, at least, though. $50 is a start. But it's USD, so thats good!) Smile

Wow, you have a G3 computer to start with? Or was it your second computer you got? I had two computers before this iBook.

My first Mac was a G3 PowerMac (blue and white model) running Panther. I'm getting rid of this computer since it now feels like a dinosaur (but it sure was futuristic compared to my PC running Win 98!). My second Mac, which I am still using and LOVE, is a 'clamshell' iBook that runs OS 9. My third Mac is my new toy, the 24 iMac running Tiger which is a DREAM. ;D

Bragging:

My first computer was an Apple IIc in 1982 or 1983. Still going strong!

Since then I've had 5 Macs: SE20, PPC6600/60, iMac G3, G4 and now G5

Bragging ends.
