You're not stuck. There is an answer, and it has to do with what you can do to objects you can't, in this case, see.

More general advice. In cases where Jack is in dark rooms or at places that he is invisible, you always need to keep in mind that Midnight Mansion is a
simplegame. There are only 6 keyboardbuttons to work with: the 4 arrows, spacebar and enter. Like rose said: try everything. And suddenly your (MM-) life will be easy!
