General Discussion - VernJensen - 04-03-2010

Post here for general bug reports / suggestion about the expansion pack. Do NOT post here with comments that are specific to a particular mansion. DO post here with bug reports that might be *displayed* by a particular mansion, but are a game-wide bug, not a mansion-design bug.

Re: General Discussion - Wingy - 04-03-2010

This may not be a bug, but I find that the
Difficulty: Normal
text or on all other difficulties a bit hard to read on the map screen, seeing its blue text against the blue water. I would suggest for a darker color of blue, or a different color all together, or something. Tongue

Re: General Discussion - searchdiver - 04-06-2010

Is there a way to turn on a debug system or something that shows me room numbers as I'm playing so I can just record them for comments on the mansion?

Re: General Discussion - Wingy - 04-06-2010

Yup, while in game press
Command + D
and in the top left-hand corner will show you the room number, the top right-hand corner will show you your Frames Per Second, and in the bottom right-hand corner shows you how many secrets you've found.

I don't know if this is a bug, but MM2 messes up my desktop icons and will resize any windows that I had left open.

Not a major thing, but annoying. MM1 never did that.

Re: General Discussion - rose - 04-07-2010

I have another problem. When I leave MM for a moment to write in a document and the mansion have a small window, like the one for Resume abort etc., showing and I have the document on top, I can't get the mansion to lay on top the document when I click some where on the large MM window. I have to close or put the document into the Dock to get at the mansion window.

I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I didn't have the problem with MM1.

MM1 *does* do that actually. But this only happens if you save a new file OR take a screenshot while the game is running fullscreen. So the easy solution is, save files somewhere other than your desktop, and don't take screenshots while fullscreen.

This goes back to a bug in MacOS X that Apple never fixed. I hope to avoid this when rewriting Midnight Mansion from scratch (which I'll do while porting to iPhone).

I'm using SSnow Leopard as well. What program are you using to type your notes? If I use TextEdit, I don't see any problems here.

Are you running Full Screen (
Let Midnight Mansion choose the resolution
) are are you running the game in a window?

Re: General Discussion - rose - 04-08-2010

Vern, I use TextEdit and Pages. I always play MM in a window. I never liked the full mode view and I have never encountered MM to be slow in a window. I had trouble with both word processors together with MM2.

Re: General Discussion - rose - 04-08-2010

Today I had Safari open and MM2. It worked fine to toggle between the two except that I couldn't see the mouse arrow so I could click on Resume. I only saw a movement when passing the button.
