Agreed, but the more I think about it, maybe it makes more sense to just put that info on the download page for each mansion. This way people have a warning that's right in front of them when they go to download a mansion with the intent to convert it. Either way, it makes sense to save that until later.

brell and Rob, first of all let me say I appreciate how hard the two of you have been working to get these custom mansions converted and available for download. I feel really bad for not offering to help, but I hadn't had the time the past few days to do that. Let me know if there's anything else you want me to do now, though.

Anyway, I just downloaded all the mansions from your list, but the zip file for Midnight Castle HD was missing.

Also, when I went down the list from the
Discussions of approved MM1 and MM1 HD custom mansions
board, I was able to download 3 mansions that weren't listed in
Downloads of HD ready MM1 custom mansions
topic:

Mansion Family Mind Mines
Palace of Gore
Small Palace of Gore

Agree.

Semi-Native, sometimes some of the admins are busy. That's why we need more that two admins.
I've uploaded the Midnight Castle HD mansion zipfile.

If you find something not listed you can of course add it yourself. Wink

Anyone know how to apply custom graphics to the mansions in MMHD?

Not that I know of but Vern gave some guidelines in the HD testing category

Re: List of cm's that work in MM1 HD - brell - 09-04-2011

I quote Vern:

Make sure it doesn't have custom sprites either. Any kind of custom graphics replacement, and you'll need to delete the 'Pict' folder first, OR upgrade the graphics by:

1) Converting them to PNG images with alpha mask,
2) Resizing them to be identical in size to the current graphics of that resource number in Game Data/Sprites.

Then they'll work. So custom graphics *can* be used. They just have to be resized and saved in .PNG format.

It depends on what you're talking about. Replacement sprites/tiles would be handled as Brell related. Custom backgrounds are different. They are not currently supported from what I understand. Vern also mentioned something about tweaking the way backgrounds/sounds were handled in the game so that these resources could be stored in the same zip as the rest of the mansion.

Part of the reason why we're holding off on the graphics stuff is that:

1. There's plenty of other things to work on.
2. There may be further changes to facilitate custom backgrounds/sounds

Whoops! Well this kind of help is good too! Sanity checking some of the upload process. I did some of it very late at night, and it looks like I made a mistake with Midnight Castle - that's easily taken care of. Same with the other stuff.

Thanks! Smile

What I'm trying to do, is simply test how graphics can be changed, in the hope that some mansions with minor custom graphics can be saved. Such as Immortal Ruins, Sandybean asked me about it. Right now, I'm trying to change the shirt of Jack's colour.

What I did was I simply went into the data of the game and digged out Jack's 00128.png image. I used photoshop to change the colour, and saved a new 00128.png to the desktop.

I then went into my mansion's folder and deleted the 'pict' folder and made a 'PICT' folder and put my new 00128.png into it. I then closed up the folder and archived all of the mansion's resources to make it whole again.

I booted up the mansion in the game, but Jack's shirt had not changed colours.

Am I missing a step, or something?
