But actually it's
Schwarzwälderkirschtorte
or maybe the correct spelling would be
Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte
(= in 2 words).

Schwarzwälder meaning
from the black forest
.

BTW, the best thing that ever came from the Schwarzwald is not that cherry cake, but one of the greatest gifts Germany ever gave to the world, the famous record label MPS (= Musik-Produktion Schwarzwald).
MPS is regarded by most international experts, collectors and DJs as Europe's best jazz record label, and existed from roughly 1963 to ca. 1980.

Many world famous jazz musicians recorded for MPS, including Oscar Peterson, Dave Pike, Freddie Hubbard and also of course the creme of the German and European jazz scene.

I did German in school from 12 to 16 and then some German modules at University. Not that that explains which I know that... Big Grin
